ROBERT B. BAKER, JR. Funeral Director of Chinn-Baker Funeral Service
The owner and funeral Director of Chinn- Baker Funeral Service in Arlington Virginia departed this life on Monday, July 9, 2018 at Virginia Hospital Center, He was the father of Tyra (Carleton) Baker-Thompson, Robert (Nadia) Baker III, Le'Nard Baker, Cha'Vonne Baker, Aaliyah Baker; brother of the late Rupert B. Baker, Constance B. (Oscar), Howard, the late Edward C. Durham, Patricia A. (Leonard) Lee, and Marion Y. Jones; 10 grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews other relatives and friends. Mr. Baker will lie in state at Mt. Zion Baptist Church, 3500 S. 19th St., Arlington, VA 22204, Viewing on Thursday July 19, 2018 from 5 to 9 p.m. and again on Friday, July 20, 2018 from 9 a.m. until time of funeral service at 11 a.m. Rev. Kenneth Baldwin, Officiant Pastor Dr. Leonard Smith. Interment: Pleasant Valley Memorial Park. Services by CHINN-BAKER, 2605 S. Shirlington Road, Arlington, VA 22206 (703)979-1666.

I am deeply saddened by the passing of Robert Baker. I thank him, his brother, daughter for the love and kindness that they provided for others. He provided service for my Mother when she passed. Robert you will be rewarded in heaven for all the good things that you have done for others. Family and relatives of the bakers and friends be blessed and at peace during this time. Mr Robert Baker, he was like our oldest brother, such a kind hearted gentlemen, with a a big beautiful smile. I was shocked when I heard the sad news.

A major Milestone within the Puryear -Lutz family has been placed within our archives. The life of Robert Baker Jr. will no longer fulfill the love that he has shown to us. We will remember his laughter and the joy he applied while counseling us during our time of sorrow. Virginia Lee - Puryear and family sends their deepest sympathy during the loss of your loved one. 1st Corinthians 13 chapter 6 through the 8th versus reminds us about Roberts love. The community of Green Valley/Nauck and the DMV area will always be appreciative of the professional service Mr. Rupert and Mr. Robert Baker, Jr. gave to thousand of families.
Reminiscing way back reminds me of Chinn's Bend and the Director the Late Mr. Chinn. Then the Baker's took over the Funeral service and continued to assist families in need of their service.
Your loss is felt by many, and please know the fondness many share of him, his warm smile and memories of Mr. Robert Baker, Jr. will always be remembered.
