ROBERT MARTIN BRIDEN  
Rockville, MD resident Robert M. Briden passed away on June 2, 2010 in Southern California. Born in Pawtucket, RI on New Years Day, Bob was a graduate of BCC High School and proudly received his BS from University of Maryland, where he studied horticulture and was a member of the Sigma Pi Fraternity. He served in the US Navy for 4 years as an officer while living in Norfolk, VA; Chesapeake Beach, VA and St. Simons Island, GA before returning back to the Washington area in the 1960's. Bob enjoyed his work as a computer programmer and systems analyst and retired in 2001. He liked jigsaw and crossword puzzles, John Wayne movies and bowling. He also enjoyed cards, music, dancing and friends. He was married to H. Diane Briden for 48 years, until her death in 2005 and is survived by two loving daughters, Lyny Rae Briden of Malibu, CA and Louisa Briden Grothe of Sarasota, FL. Burial services for Bob and Diane Briden will be held Monday, October 18 at Arlington National Cemetery at 9 a.m. and a lunch will follow in Rockville.
