FARON Robert S. Faron Robert S. Faron, of Chevy Chase, MD, passed away on December 22, 2021, at age 74, surrounded by his family. He is survived by his loving wife of 14 years, Sue Faron, and his three wonderful sons, Gregory Faron (Jamie Thompson) of Washington, DC, Douglas Faron (Barbara) of Bethesda, MD, and Daniel Faron of Arlington, VA, and his wonderful stepchildren Katherine Schrock (Julia Hershberger) of Silver Spring, MD, Margaret Schrock (Zandra Beaumont) of Brooklyn, NY, and Andrew Schrock (Julie Wainwright) of Detroit, MI; and four fabulous grandchildren, Caleb Schrock, Madeline Faron, Jack Faron and Monte Schrock. He is also survived by his loving sister, Elizabeth Faron of Boca Raton, FL; his nephew Jacob Miller of Tel Aviv, Israel and the mother of his children, Linda Baumann, of Washington, DC. He is predeceased by his parents Jack Faron and Ceil Faron of Boca Raton, FL. Bob graduated from Princeton University, with a B.S.E. in Basic Engineering in 1968 where he rowed for the crew. He received his J.D. from Columbia University School of Law in 1975 where he was an International Fellow in the Columbia School of International and Public Affairs. He was a Captain in the U.S. Air Force from 1969-1972. He joined the U.S. Department of Commerce, Maritime Administration after law school and subsequently became a Foreign Service Officer at the State Department. He was in private law practice until 1990, when he joined the U.S. Department of Energy as Deputy Assistant General Counsel for Environment. In 1993 he left to become the Assistant General Counsel for Amerada Hess Corporation. Bob returned to Washington, DC to practice environmental and sustainability law and to consult with Putnam Hayes and Bartlett. After several years with his own law practice, he joined Project Performance Corporation as a senior consultant. In 2007 he joined the U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services where he initiated the monitoring and compliance branch of the Verification Division and in 2010 he became the senior policy advisor for the division. In 2017 Bob retired to write poetry, study watercolors and acrylics, enjoy his grandchildren and organize activities for the Great Class of '68 at Princeton as the Chairman of the Board for the class.
