On Monday, December 18, 2017, of Silver Spring, MD. Beloved husband of the late Glenna G. Fitzgerald. Relatives and friends may call at Collins Funeral Home, 500 University Boulevard West, Silver Spring, MD, 20901 Thursday, December 21, from 10 to 11 a.m.; where a Funeral Service will follow at 11 a.m. Interment Gate of Heaven Cemetery. You were always so kind to me when I was growing up, and you tolerated my visits to you in Silver Spring with patience and humor. I have such fond memories that I will carry with me always! Hi Mr Fitzgerald, we will miss you and always remember you as a kind, witty, gentleman - and our next door neighbor of 25 years. It was our joy to get to know you and Glenna and hear your life stories and travel adventures when we spent a few weeks living together a few years back. I learned to make Butternut Squash from Glenna and my husband was delighted to have a Scotch drinking companion. It's a fitting time to join Glenna, on the winter solstice, a time when the sun practically stands still, and then transitions and evolves once again into more light.
