Robert J. Juszczyk

Robert "Bob" J. Juszczyk, beloved husband, devoted veteran, and lifelong music enthusiast, passed away peacefully on September 28, 2025, at the age of 81.
Born in Ware, Massachusetts, Bob was the son of John and Stephanie Juszczyk. Known for his steadfast consistency and generous spirit, he proudly served in the U.S. Air Force before earning his accounting degree on the GI Bill. His career as an auditor took him from a CPA firm in Springfield, Massachusetts, to the U.S. Treasury Department and later the Department of Housing and Urban Development, where he traveled nationwide conducting audits with diligence and integrity.
A renaissance man, Bob loved baseball, playing in his youth and later on his church's softball team. A devoted horse-racing fan, he especially cherished his annual visits to the Preakness at Pimlico. Music was his greatest passion—he played the accordion, guitar, harmonica, and, later in life, the piano, sharing his talent generously at community gatherings and bringing joy to many. He also loved fishing, from the waters off Block Island to the shores of Ocean City, Maryland.
Bob is survived by his wife of 48 years, Barbara; his brother Joe (Joan) Juszczyk; their children Alyssa (Tommy) Mills and Matthew (Moi) Juszczyk/DeOliveira; sisters-in-law Sherry Grabon and JoAnn (Ellis) Griffin; as well as many nieces, nephews, extended family, and devoted friends.
A Mass will be held Tuesday, October 21, at 10:30 a.m. at the Basilica of St. Mary in Alexandria, Virginia, with a reception following at the church Lyceum. Interment will take place in Massachusetts at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Order of Malta – Federal Association or to the Saint Vincent de Paul Society of the Basilica of Saint Mary.
