Robert Davis Knapp

Robert Davis Knapp, 78, of Versailles, Kentucky, passed away peacefully at home on Tuesday, November 11, 2025. He suffered from pancreatic cancer. Bob was a B-CC graduate, and earned a BS from the University of Maryland in agriculture economics. His career spanned 42 years, including US Army service and with the USDA. His role with USDA assigned him to Spain for a three-year tour as Assistant Agriculture Attaché and later, official visits to six of the seven continents. Bob enjoyed a good meal, travel, time with family and friends, and reading a good book. He was the consummate "girl dad," volunteering his time with swim team and band, and attending many ballet recitals.
Bob was born in Washington, DC, the son of late James Webb Knapp and Bierne (Davis) Knapp. Bob is survived by his wife of 49 years and 355 days, Peggy, daughter, Amelia, son-in-law David, grandsons Benjamin and Christopher, two nieces, three great-nieces and one great-nephew. He was preceded in death by his sister Nancy. Private Services are scheduled.
