Dear Dorothy,
I was shocked and saddened to see Bob's obituary in the Post just now. I want to write you a proper condolence letter, but I have lost your address. I will see if I can find it online. In the meantime, please know how sorry we are for your loss. Bob was a wonderful person.
Love,

Mrs. Menaker, we are so sorry to hear about your loss. Mr. Menaker was one of our customers but also a friend. What a wonderful person and the two of you were blessed to have each other. Our wish for you is that one day soon your sorrow will turn to fond memories forever. May you and your family be blessed forever.

Dorothy and Ethan - I am so saddened to learn of your tremendous loss. Bob fought a long and tough battle and I am sure that all of his strength and courage was fueled by the love and caring he received from you, your family and friends. Bob has left his mark in the hearts of all of us who had the privelege of knowing him and his physical presence will surely be missed. As he looks down upon the two of you, I hope you will be comforted knowing his spirit will live on. May the love and friendship of your family and friends be with you constantly during this difficult time as you grieve your loss and work towards what I hope will be a fast and certain healing of this tremendous wound.

we met bob, zl,and dorothy right after they moved to atlanta about 5 years ago.
bob was the editor of the jewish times, and he and i spent many hours discussing politics and current affairs.
his sharp mind, vast knowledge of history, and sharp tongue were evident to us immediately.
but it was his gentle and kind demeanor that impressed us so much.
bob, zl, was a gifted writer, a talented editor and a great and loyal friend. we will miss him greatly.
may his memory be blessed.
