Bobby was one of my most favorite people in all the world - I felt impossibly lucky to have such a fun and interesting brother, another point of thankfulness for us all when his mother and my father were married so many years ago! When I moved to Colorado, he and Dianne came to visit me, and made sure to go to the Little Bear in downtown Evergreen, a family friendly bar with a reputation that had spread all the way to California, and which is still humming today. We called each other the black sheep of the family, because we both went our own ways - he to the oceans and me to the mountains that we loved. He left us way too soon, and I miss him so much, but I know he's at peace, probably having an oyster and a beer with Daddy right now, and laughing at Mother Margaret's good humor!

Bobby was a wonderful brother, son, father and friend. He served his country with honor and pride, giving much and getting little in return. Serving in Vietnam, as did many, was costly and at great sacrifice to himself but he always forged ahead, and never stopped being a gentle and caring man. Bobby may you find peace and reap the rewards you so deserve. P.S. thanks for letting the Kid use your car. We looked so cool! Sorry about the emergency brake and clutch!

I remember seeing Bobby when he would come to DC to visit his mother and Pat. I always thought it was so wonderful when he and Blake would be able to go to Solomon's and spend time together. From seeing photos and videos from his last months, it seemed he was enjoying life until the end - especially the fishing trip he and Tom took, and the visits to the waterfront. Rest in Peace, Bobby.

I first met Bobby after our care management company was contacted by his sister Pat regarding his failing health. I found Bobby in the hospital, very ill and I was not so sure that he was going to make it through that weekend. As it would be Bobby accepted me as his care manager and go to guy, he began to trust in me and though it wasnt an easy journey to his recovery, it was a rewarding one. We finally were able to see Bobby stabilize and settle in at a nursing facility and that is where our weekly outings and adventures blossomed. The last nine months of Bobbys life were the best that I had witnessed with his health improving along with his strength. We began to take several outings a week mostly characterized by drives to the beach, over bridges and stopping in at fishing holes to see if there were any fish biting! It was a blessing to me, and hopefully to Bobby, that just one week prior to his decline we made it out to one of our favorite spots with a couple of pools, and had Bobby hook up with two quite ugly fish! I became very close to Bobby and without a doubt lost a good friend on April 18 and feel honored to have been with Bobby and his family during his last days with us.

Bobby was a teenager when I first met him and his 3 year-old little sister, Pat. I remember his patience and kindness when Pat and I would dare to wander into his bedroom uninvited. I didnt have much contact with him in later years, but I can tell from the other guest book entries that his warmth and kindness endured and brought happiness to those who knew and loved him. Rest in peace, dear Bobby.

I enjoyed having Bobby as my step brother and remember his visits with my parents. I also remember my visit with him and his family when he lived in Manhattan Beach. He and my husband shared their common backgrounds as soldiers in Vietnam. It was so nice that my sister, Emily, and he were particularly close and that she was able to be with him at the end. Pat was wonderful in finding the help he needed to ensure a good quality of life. And how nice that he was able to go fishing, one of his favorite things! I'm sure that he is enjoying a nice day on the water now with the sun continuing to shine.

I remember when Bobby visited us in Coronado when I was young. He was a gentle soul and a real kind man. I talked to him on the phone years later on the phone and I know he placed his faith in our loving Savior. We miss dear Bobby, but are comforted, knowing we will meet him again in heaven, the place of no more tears, sorrow or suffering.

Bobby was a sweet cousin growing up and ran to greet me at his mothers 90th birthday celebration. I felt very honored by his big welcoming smile and warm hugs. His Aunt Mollyanne Northrop Harris, my mother, often commented how happy it made her to remember Bobbys warm welcome! He will be missed, but we have faith that through Jesus atonement we will all be reunited as a family one day. Bobby was blessed with the most caring and loving sister Pat and niece Liz, in the entire world.
