I just saw a show on EWTN where Robert Novak was being interviewed by Raymond Arroyo. He said that someone told him that life is short, but Eternity is FOREVER! This changed his life, as he took that to heart, and turned toward God. May God grant your soul Eternal Rest. Amen

For Robert...
WEEP NOT FOR ME
Do not weep for me when I no longer dwell among the wonders of the earth; for my larger self is free, and my soul rejoices on the other side of pain...on the other side of darkness.
Do not weep for me, for I am a ray of sunshine that touches your skin, a tropical breeze upon your face, the hush of joy within your heart and the innocence of babes in mothers arms.
I am the hope in a darkened night. And, in your hour of need, I will be there to comfort you. I will share your tears, your joys, your fears, your disappointments and your triumphs.
Do not weep for me, for I am cradled
in the arms of God. I walk with the angels, and hear the music beyond the stars.
Do not weep for me, for I am within you;
I am peace, love, I am a soft wind that caresses the flowers. I am the calm that follows a raging storm. I am an autumns leaf that floats among the garden of God, and I am pure white snow that softly falls upon your hand.
Do not weep for me, for I shall never die, as long as you remember me...
with a smile and a sigh.

Robert Novak was a "heads up" journalist who exposed anything and everything coming out of Washington. He was the mainstay of informative journalism on the screen in our living rooms. His penetrating analysis of controversial (and perhaps non-controversial) Washingtonians earned him a secure place in the history of American journalism. To the Novak family, we wish the most sincerest of sympathies over your loss (and our loss as well).

I was in the process of completing Prince of Darkness when the news was flashed that its author, Robert D. Novak, had died of brain cancer. I was deeply saddened by the news. My prayers and condolences go out to his family. He was an authentic patriot that is so rare in today's America. I was pleased to learn that his embrace of Catholicism was a comfort to him in his final years. May he rest in peace.

To my dearest family, some things I'd like to say...
but first of all, to let you know, that I arrived okay.
I'm writing this from heaven. Here I dwell with God above.
Here, there's no more tears of sadness; here is just eternal love.
Please do not be unhappy just because I'm out of sight.
Remember that I'm with you every morning, noon and night.
That day I had to leave you when my life on earth was through,
God picked me up and hugged me and He said, "I welcome you."
It's good to have you back again; you were missed while you were gone.
As for your dearest family, they'll be here later on.
I need you here badly; you're part of my plan.
There's so much that we have to do, to help our mortal man.
God gave me a list of things, that he wished for me to do.
And foremost on the list, was to watch and care for you.
And when you lie in bed at night, the day's chores put to flight.
God and I are closest to you....in the middle of the night.
When you think of my life on earth, and all those loving years
because you are only human, they are bound to bring you tears.
But do not be afraid to cry; it does relieve the pain.
Remember there would be no flowers, unless there was some rain.
I wish that I could tell you all that God has planned.
But if I were to tell you, you wouldn't understand.
But one thing is for certain, though my life on earth is o'er.
I'm closer to you now, than I ever was before.
There are many rocky roads ahead of you and many hills to climb;
but together we can do it by taking one day at a time.
It was always my philosophy and I'd like it for you too...
that as you give unto the world, the world will give to you.
If you can help somebody who's in sorrow and pain,
then you can say to God at night......"My day was not in vain."
And now I am contented....that my life has been worthwhile,
knowing as I passed along the way, I made somebody smile.
So if you meet somebody who is sad and feeling low,
just lend a hand to pick him up, as on your way you go.
When you're walking down the street, and you've got me on your mind;
I'm walking in your footsteps only half a step behind.
And when it's time for you to go.... from that body to be free,
remember you're not going.....you're coming here to me.

Robert Novak was the epitome of fortitude and truth seeking. As a journalism intern, I observed his fiesty and forthright ways close up. There is total admiration for his having always sought out primary sources, for the fact that members of both parties entrusted their quotes to him, and for the fact that he always wrote (and spoke) the truth , the whole truth and nothing but the truth. He has mentored and inspired many others to do the same. No doubt Bob is with God, having been a good and faithful servant . God bless all his family ,friends,children and grandchildren with comforting memories of an exceedingly remarkable man. Susan Maguire

Dear Mrs. Novak,
I am a 57 year old wife and mother. I just loved Bob, as he was a spokesman for our loyal beliefs to the United Sates of America. I had a love for him beginning from the days in the late 70's and early 80's watching him, with great respect, on the McLaughlin television program. I was in college then, and how loved that man. My husband and I remained grateful fans of him for these many years. I prayed for both of you when I heard that he was ill. God bless you, Mrs. Novak. You must be a good woman. I am grateful to God for calling Bob to Christ, and since Christ paid on the cross for our sins, I am confident that Mr. Novak is in heaven, completely forgiven and in the presence of God. I pray that you also will follow him in faith in Jesus' work, in our behalf, and that we will BOTH see him again! May God comfort you with His Word. Much love and sympathy to you, Mrs. Novak.
