Robert Lee Travers (Age 90)
Passed on August 6, 2022 one day short of his 91st birthday with his family by his side. A lifelong resident of Alexandria, VA, Bob was born on August 7, 1931 to Robert H. Travers and Agnes M. (Skinner) Travers. In addition to his love of family, Robert loved real estate, land development and the Kiwanis Club. His passion for the Kiwanis club led him to lead as Lt. Governor in the 20th division. Robert is survived by his wife, Elaine Travers; his children, Scott Travers, Guy Travers (Kirstin), and Julia Foulkes (Jack); five grandchildren; and four great grandchildren. Family and friends are welcome to gather from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. on Friday August 12, 2022 at Jefferson Funeral Chapel with a prayer service at 11 a.m. A graveside service will immediately follow at Mount Comfort Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to a Kiwanis club in Robert's honor.

Bob Travers was like a second dad to me. The very first time I met him was in the early 1980´s. I was a young man in my twenties. He took the time to listen to my dreams and encouraged me to follow them. Thru the years we became closer. He guided me thru real estate deals, even when he didn´t receive a dime in commission. He introduced me to his son ,Guy Travers. A class act like his father. I now live on a ranch in Oklahoma. We are still involved in commercial real estate. Some in Virginia and some in Oklahoma. Brenda and I would never have the life we live without Bob´s unselfish advice and encouragement. I´m sure my story has been repeated many times over. God Bless you my friend. May you spend eternity in happiness with the Lord.
