John was a great friend and mentor, and a truly bigger then life guy. When I first met John,I was a "nobody" at Compugraphic. He saw my interest in international events and people, and sent me off on a three=-week trip to Europe. It changed my life in so many ways. Quick example - I switched from cigarettes to cigars. (I cheated and inhaled.)
I was later transferred to Ireland, and to this day spend a happy hour (or 2) at my "local" The Claddagh, an Irish pub Pub down the street in Lawrnce. R.I.P big John. You made our world a much better place.
