Family Man, and Sailor
1932 - 1985
Dr. Ronald L. Dockett passed away peacefully on September 25, 2025, in his home with family at his side in Washington DC. Born in Boston, Massachusetts, he earned his PhD in clinical psychology and enjoyed a long career as chief psychologist and professor at the Howard University Hospital. He was a respected psychotherapist and diagnostician, held in high regard by students and colleagues. A devoted husband to Dr. Kathleen Dockett (nee Davis) and proud father to Norman Dockett, Ron was also a cherished mentor to his extended family and friends. Known for his compassion, wisdom, and love, he built a home filled with warmth, joy, and adventure. An avid sailor, he found peace, freedom and challenge on the open seas. Private services were held October 12, 2025.
