RONY LEE Obituary

LEE DR. RONY RAFAEL C. LEE Dr. Rony Rafael C. Lee, a longtime resident of Clinton, MD and beloved family physician and rheumatologist, died April 17, 2012. He was 76. Dr. Lee, a native of the Philippines, attended medical school at the University of the East, Manila, Philippines. He moved to the United States in 1967 with his wife, Nelda, and two sons, Rony and Roland, whereupon he completed residencies at Prince George's General Hospital and Georgetown University. Shortly thereafter, he started a family practice in Clinton, MD where he quickly became a pillar of the community. Dr. Lee established the first family practice in Clinton, and was the family doctor for much of Southern Maryland for the following 30 years. Uncommonly devoted to his patients, Dr. Lee received numerous awards for his volunteer services to the community during his years of active practice. In retirement, he continued his philanthropic efforts where he led several medical missions, up until his death, to the Philippines to provide services to the poorest residents living in remote areas, which lacked any access to critical health care. He was extremely active in the local Filipino community and was one of the founders of the Philippine Medical Association here in Washington. He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Nelda Aquino Lee; his four children, Dr. Rony Rafael Lee, Jr., Roland Vicente Lee, Esq., Belinda Rosario Lee, Raymond Victor Lee, Esq.; and his eight grandchildren, Samantha, Amanda, Jenny, Rony, Libby, Joey, Ray and Izzy. A memorial service will be held at St. John the Evangelist Church, 8912 Old Branch Ave., Clinton, MD 20735 on Saturday, July 7, 2012 at 11 a.m. with a reception to follow at 12 noon. Questions regarding the service can be directed to Raymond Lee at 240.432.8416.A memorial service will be held at St. John the Evangelist Church, 8912 Old Branch Ave., Clinton, MD 20735 on Saturday, July 7, 2012 at 11 a.m. with a reception to follow at 12 noon. Rony and Roland and Family:
My son, Rich, sent me a copy of Dr Lee's death. He was a good man, a good doc, and a good husband and father. Not much tops those attributes. I remember you 'boys' well from my Clinton days and want to extend my sincere condolences to you guys, your Mom, and your family.
Sincerely, Steve Grace, Duxbury, VT
