RUTH LOUISE WATERS (Age 98)
On Saturday, June 8, 2013, of Silver Spring, MD. Beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and sister. She was preceded in death by her devoted husband of 72 years Robert W. Waters Jr.; survived by her children Robert W. Waters, III, Anne Barry, Gail McPherson, Alan (Linda) Waters, Jean (Danny) Farmer and Debbie (Braxton) Smith; her loving sister Liz LeMat; and grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Relatives and friends may call at Collins Funeral Home, 500 University Boulevard, West, Silver Spring, MD, (Valet Parking), Tuesday, 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. and 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial at St. Bernadette's Church, 72 University Blvd. East, Silver Spring, MD, on Wednesday, June 12, 2013 at 10:30 a.m. Interment Manassas City Cemetery. I knew your mother's smiling face while I was growing up, attending St. Bernadette's School and Church. I also saw her during the time we rode carpool to the Academy of The Holy Cross. She always had a smile on her face even though my inability to wake up in a timely manner could have given her a reason to do otherwise. Jean and Debbie are a beautiful expression of the grande dame that Mrs. Waters was. May she be dancing with Mr. Waters (we had to call everyone by Mr. and Mrs.) forever till Mr. Robert (daddy) asks for a dance and then returns her to her man again. I only had the pleasure of know Ruth for a short time while she was with us at Sunrise. We developed a wonderful friendship that I will cherrish. She was a wonderful woman and was blessed to have met her. Though her passing is sad that we won't have her here with us knowing that she is at peace is comforting.

I only had the pleasure of knowing Ruth for a short time while she came to live at Sunrise but in that short time we developed a close bond. I would alway get her to smile and she would tell me if anyone told me that I was "pushy" which I replied that my family tells me that every day. I am very sad that she is gone but happy to know she is at peace. She was an amazing woman with a wonderful family.
