Salvatore Franco Obituary
FRANCO SALVATORE FRANCO On Tuesday, February 19, 2008, SALVATORE FRANCO, 85 of Nokomis, FL, formerly of Bowie, MD. Beloved husband of Ann Franco for 55 years; devoted father of Gregory, Kenneth (Debra) and Jeffrey (Donna) Franco; loving grandfather of Shannon, Nicholas, Zachary, Lauren, Ashley, Megan and Brooke; dear sister of Catherine (Michael) Branca and Vincent (Dorothy) Franco and the late Frank Franco. Sal was a U.S. Navy Veteran of WWII. He was a building contractor who opened Central Hardware & Home Building Supply in Bowie, MD. Sal was very active in the community, a charter member of the Belair Lion Club. He was also a member of the Belair Boys Club and team sponsor. Sal was 4th degree member of the Knights of Columbus Honor Color Guard. He joined the Knights of Columbus in 1956 in Cape May, NJ, Stella Maris Council 3546. He served as Grand Knight of this council. Sal is a member of Sacred Heart Council 2577 in Bowie, MD since 1960. Family will receive friends at the family owned BEALL FUNERAL HOME, 6512 NW Crain Hwy. (Rte. 3 South), Bowie, MD 20715 on Tuesday, February 26, 2008, from 6 to 9 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Wednesday, February 27, 2008 at 11 a.m. at Sacred Heart Chapel, 16501 Annapolis Rd., Bowie, MD. Interment Sacred Heart Cemetery. In lieu flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Tide Well Hospice & Palliative Care, 5955 Rand Blvd., Sarasota, FL 34238.
