SAMUEL DEWS Obituary
SAMUEL THORNTON DEWS (Age 87)
On Monday, January 19, 2015; loving and devoted father of Sylvia Dews, Luwonda Dews-Benninger, Lewis Dews, Daniel Dews and Reginald Dews. He is also survived by his step-daughter Carolyn Porter; one sister Fariece Altice; five brothers John Dews, Woodrow Dews, Wallace Dews, Gerard Dews and Kenneth Dews; 17 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren; a host of other relatives and friends. Mr. Dews will lie in state at the Matthews Memorial Baptist Church, 2616 Martin Luther King Jr. Ave. SE on Tuesday, January 27, from 10 a.m. until Funeral Services at 11 a.m. Interment Washington National Cemetery. Services by STEWART.

Lewis and Family. So sorry for the loss of your dad. my husband always made sure to keep the path free of leaves and anything blocking his way so that he could take his daily walk. mr. dews always had a story to tell whether it be about the different tress in your yard or his numbers playing. so many times, my husband & i would give him a ride to play his numbers because he always took the short cut through our back yard.you will be surely missed mr. dews and my husband and i will continue to keep that path clear for you to walk. may god bless the dews family.
