Sandra A. Ludwig

Sandra A. Ludwig, LCSW of Alexandria, VA, passed away on August 23, 2024. Born in Hartford, CT and raised in Alexandria, VA, she was a member of the Fort Hunt High School class of 1968 and obtained a degree in Sociology from the University of Maryland, College Park as well as a Master's in Social Work from Washington University in St. Louis.
Independent, principled, and resilient, in the Washington, DC area she contributed professionally to community building and service as a child and adolescent social worker for the District of Columbia and Fairfax County Public School and Social Service systems. Sandra began her career at the DC Environmental School, later working in private practice with Northern Virginia Child and Family Services in Springfield and as the Social Worker for the Pulley Career Center in Alexandria. Sandra founded the DC-area Women's Adventure Club and served on the Soil and Marker Committee of the Alexandria Community Remembrance Project.
Private funeral to be held on Friday, August 30, 2024.
