SCOTT AUBY Obituary

SCOTT NATHAN AUBY
Died on June 14, 2016 at age 47 of brain cancer. Scott''s enormous heart and immense musical talent touched so many lives. Among those grieving are his wife of 20 years, Jill Newman; their sons, Jake and Noah; Scott''s parents, Carolyn and Alan Auby; his brother Gregg (Kristina) and their children; and his brother, Michael. Scott was born on November 26, 1968 in Madison, Wisconsin. He graduated from Sun Prairie High School in Wisconsin, where he was recently honored. He graduated from Lawrence University in 1990 with a degree in Music Theory and Composition. He spent two summers in the elite College Orchestra at Disney World, playing the trumpet and as assistant conductor. Jill and Scott met at Harvard Law School where Scott graduated Cum Laude in 1993. For 22 years, he practiced law in the DC office of Debevoise & Plimpton, where he was highly respected for his intellect, integrity and humor. Throughout his life, Scott continued to compose music and sing professionally, including with Cathedra at the Washington National Cathedral and with the Washington Bach Consort, where he also served on the Board. Rabbi Bruce Lustig (Washington Hebrew Congregation) and the Reverend Gini Gerbasi (St. John''s Church, Georgetown) will preside at a memorial and celebration of life to be held 3 p.m. on Sunday, June 26, 2016 at Washington Hebrew Congregation, 3935 Macomb Street NW, DC. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Johns Hopkins Hospital brain cancer research.
