SIDNEY TYROLER Obituary


SIDNEY A. TYROLER, M.D.  
Of Stuart and Palm City, FL, passed away Friday, July 10, 2015, after a lengthy illness. Sidney was born in Columbus, OH to Sidney Tyroler, Sr. and Jessie Rosenberg. After graduating from Ohio State University College of Medicine in 1948, he began his medical career as a lieutenant in the US Navy. He met and married Rita Jacobson of Portsmouth, VA and they settled in Falls Church, VA. Sidney practiced Internal Medicine in Northern Virginia for many years and served as President of the Arlington County Medical Society during the 1960's. Sidney and Rita retired to Palm City in 1999.He is survived by Rita Tyroler, his wife of 65 years; sister, Judith Karlan of Beverly Hills, CA; daughters, Susan Cohen (Larry), of Stuart, FL; Dr. Merle J. Tyroler (Dennis Christensen), of Sullivan's Island, SC; Janet Mostow (Jack) of Pittsburgh, PA; and sons, Bruce Tyroler (Mary Louise) of Brooklyn, NY; Dr. Jay Tyroler (Jill) of Vienna, VA and 11 grandchildren. He was precedeased by his brother, Dr. Albert Tyroler of Columbus, OH.Sidney was an avid reader and had a keen interest in politics and current events. He was previously a member of Temple Beth El, Alexandria, VA, and more recently of Temple Beit Hayam of Stuart, FL. Services will be held at Temple Beit Hayam 9:30 a.m., Sunday, July 19. Donations in his honor may be made to the Rabbi's Discretionary Fund of Temple Beit Hayam or Hospice of the Treasure Coast Hospice

I have many fond memories of Rita and Sid. He always provided fun outings for his guests and made them feel at home. I send my condolences to all the Tyrolers and wish them all well.
