SONIA RAQUEL SELMONOSKY  
Sonia Raquel Selmonosky, born March 19, 1936 to Bernardo and Ana Korob in Rosario, Argentina, passed away on Tuesday, November 20, 2018 in Falls Church, VA surrounded by her loved ones at the age of 82.  Sonia immigrated to the U.S. in 1958 and embraced her new life with gusto and passion. She always rose her hand for leadership roles and supported Jewish community through ORT, Hadassah, and her synagogue in Atlanta, Agudas Achim. Sonia was a powerful advocate for women and minorities in her communities and through the League of Women Voters.  She was a patron of the arts and her classical piano training included tango from her homeland. In addition to collecting contemporary art, Sonia was a leader in opening the doors for the Latin American art collection at the High Museum of Art in Atlanta.  She also never ceased to amaze her neighbors with her gardening prowess at both Bennett Woods and Beaver Lake Estates.  More importantly, Sonia was a devoted mother, grandmother, and wife. She was preceded in death by her brother, Roberto Korob, and son, Daniel Selmonosky. Sonia is survived by her husband of over 60 years, Dr. Carlos Alberto Selmonosky and by her daughters Deborah Selmonosky (BG Jones), Arlene Miller, and Monica Selmonosky. She leaves six grandchildren: Olivia, Jacob, Gabriela, Isabella, Max, and Sophia.  Graveside service at King David Memorial Gardens on Friday, November 23, 2018 at 1 p.m.
