SONIA STAFKO Obituary
Sonia Ruiz Stafko
Sonia passed away on March 16, 2021 in San Juan, Puerto Rico at the age of 73. She is survived by her husband of 49 years, Ralph Stafko; children, Karen and Alan; her beloved grandchildren; brother, Guillermo, and many cousins, nieces and nephews, and friends. She is preceded by her parents Arturo Ruiz Guardiola and Emma Guardiola López, and her brother Agust��n.Sonia was born and raised in San Juan, graduating from Academia Sagrado Corazón in 1966 and the University of Puerto Rico in 1970. She received her MA from Michigan State University in 1972, and resided in Burke, Virginia since 1981. She retired from Fairfax County Department of Social Services in 2012. Memorial services and viewing will be held on Tuesday, March 23, from 12 p.m. until 8 p.m. at Ehret Funeral Home, San Juan, Puero Rico, followed by Interment on Wednesday, March 24, at 11 a.m. at the Puerto Rico National Cemetery in Bayamón.

Dear Ralph , Alan and Karen,
Laura , Willy and I are sending our love and respect to you in this moment of sorrow,
Sonia and I know each other since our elementary years, and our families united us again here in Virginia.
She will be missed in our Rosary group and I will missed our late night conversations!! She was a very generous and real human being,
