It´s difficult to register that Steve has been gone over a dozen years. He left this earth much too early. I would be very interested in communicating with friends of his and will be especially grateful if anyone can provide a tel or email for Leigh (Lee?) Peterson. May we all keep happy memories of Steve in our hearts and minds.

I just found this out 12/01/2011. Steve and I were good friends from 75-78 or so. Dewey it was. God Bless you my friend, very sorry I lost touch, but memories will always be with us.

Steve was a very good man -- and a very good friend to many. He personified good taste and had a keen eye for style. He was an avid reader and observer of politics and had well informed views on many topics and wasn't timid about expressing them. In fact, we met (in 1969) arguing opposite interpretive viewpoints in an English class at GW. He liked people. His friends became his family. I only learned of his death yesterday and do not yet know of the circumstances of his death. We had lost touch over the last few years. During our long friendship, he came to know most of the members of my family even though they lived out of state. He was a comfort to me when my sister died suddenly over a decade ago and he was devoted to my daughter as an adopted uncle. So many memories of shared times. Thank you Steve for being you --a treasured friend, even though in more recent times we had fallen out of communication. His generousity, kindness and sense of humor will always be remembered. I can hear his voice and his laugh in my mind's eye. Rest in peace dear friend!

I'm so shocked....what a wonderful guy. We had so much fun any time Steve was around, and I loved co-hosting parties with him. We will all miss him...

I knew Steve for many years and I always enjoyed his comments and the sense of presence he radiated. During a party last summer, he told my date what a nice person I was and really put in a nice plug for me. That was really sweet of him and really touched me. I miss him.
