I had known Steve for at least 20 years. He was an 'adopted brother' by my brother-law, Jody and my sister, Paula. He lived with them for several years in Nokesville....and very close to their kids, Nick and Cori. Steve was a constant at their home - which graduated to always showing up for Thanksgiving and Xmas at Paula's Moms house. (good food!) Always invited and welcome! His calm demeanor, politeness, and ready smile - all Steve. He was actually my roommate on a ski trip several years ago to Lake Tahoe. And it was such a fun time... as always, Steve was such gentleman, and I will remember his as such, a gentle man. I know how greatly you will be missed by my sister's family. God bless you.

I am greatly saddened by the loss of Steve. As a gymnastics official, he always treated me with great respect. I will never forget the invitation he gave to me and my daughter, along with Steve Willard to meet Svetlana B. at his gym. All of us went out to dinner when practice was over. I will miss him.

I coached with Steve for many years with the Royals, he was such a kind and caring coach, because of Steve's willingness to help a gymnast Kenna Benson (Glick) learned to do a giant after many hours on Sundays in the gym, paid off she won bars in State, he had endless patience, he will be missed..........God bless Jenny (Benson) Cutright

Steve was my coach at Royals gymnastics in Stafford, VA back in the 80's and 90's. Several of us were just searching for him this week to invite him to our Royals reunion. He was one of my most favorite coaches ever. Our fond memories of him will be with us at the reunion.

God must have needed the best coach, the kindest person for his team. You made a great impression on many lives and left too soon for any of us to accept. May God comfort your family and friends in this time and forever.

Steve - Will miss you terribly. I truly cannot accept that this has happened. I know that in my heart you and Bubba are having so much fun and that does ease my pain. You have always been part of the Rusher family and we love you and miss you!
