As someone said previously, 'when Steve walked into a room, you knew it' - the air had changed, the environment was different. Handsome, like a movie star, but more importantly, Steve carried with him an essence of joy, compassion and kindness.

Not many people have the gift Steve had, making you feel that you were the only one in his presence, that that moment was the most important event in his life.

What a selfless energy. . . unique, special and radiant with unconditional love.

He shall be missed by so many, much more than he could ever know.

Nat told me about the terrible news Sunday about Steve's sudden passing. I was deeply saddened. Although I didn't have the opportunity to spend alot of time with Steve over the years, the times I did were very interesting, fun loving and cordial. I enjoyed his company very much. Frieda and I extend our deepest sympathies to you and your entire family. Frieda and Bob Low

Arlene, I remember first meeting Steve when I worked at Beers & Cutler and saw him over the years since I worked with Paul Abrams. He was just one of those people who made this young (at the time) woman feel like a respected professional and always part of the conversation. He was truly kind and his loss is a loss for anyone who knew him. My sympathy goes out to you and your family, especially Andy who I've run into over the years.

March 29, 2016

I had the honor of working for Steve as his legal assistant during the early 80's....I had just relocated to the D.C. area from Ohio. Steve was patient, fair-minded and straight-forward. He adored his family and guarded his friendships. He had an infectious zest for life and always had such a positive outlook....My deepest condolences to his beautiful wife, Arlene, and their much beloved children and grandchildren.
