You were a "second dad" to me, Stephen. I will forever hold you close in my heart, spirit and mind. You challenged me and taught me to speak up. You shared wise words and inspired me to learn and think critically. You were a safe place of refuge throughout my wee-younger years and when I needed it the most as an adult. You allowed me to be -me- each and every time I was over to the house. At my 12th birthday, you chaperoned and gave permission for me and Sarah to host a birthday party and when things got too loud and out of hand as a result of my invite saying, "DC GO GO House Party - Bring Everyone", you held a meeting in your office and gave us the opportunity to solve the problem rather than embarrass me. In my adult years, you advised me during college, marriage, asked if I needed anything when my son was born, and guided me during my many years in business. You helped in my legal questions and handled contracts when my husband sold his technology to a former partner. You took in my dog, adopted her and gave her an amazing life. You were a rock star in every sense of the word. I am heartbroken that I didn´t get the chance to speak up sooner and tell you all of this in person, So many more memories, Stephen. I can´t even begin to express how you impacted my life. You will forever be missed and cherished. Until we meet again, Rock Star. I hope you and my beloved dad are debating all things. And smiling on all us.

We did not know Steve very long but he certainly made a very positive impression on us. He graciously accepted us into his family. We are so glad we got to meet him and can't possibly thank him enough.

We were so sorry to hear of Steve's passing. He was a beloved friend of my parents (Lois and Bob Granick) and a mainstay of my childhood remembrances of family events. I always enjoyed talking to him!
