Steve will be missed. He was a good father and grandfather. He always liked to see the teams his son John coached while the grand children played. It was a treat seeing him playing the trombone. God bless. Rest in peace..

Enjoyed my 30 years of knowing Steve. Our time together with the Federal Jazz Commission was especially rewarding for me musically. Steve sat in with the CCJB a short while ago to the enjoyment of the whole audience. RIP my friend.

Jim Welch and his daughter Pam Welch Skinner send their condolences. We always enjoyed Steve's playing with the Federal Jazz Commission (the 'Feds') at Colonial Brooks Tavern. We also enjoyed his (and Marty's) historian insight into traditional jazz. Thank you Steve for sharing your music and wisdom with us. You've made our lives richer.
