Tamsin Lutz Obituary

Tamsin "Tam" Dewson Lutz, 91, of Saint Johns, Florida, passed away peacefully on May 28, 2025.

Born in Norfolk, Virginia, Tam began her career with the U.S. State Department in 1961 and later retired from the United States Information Agency after 34 years of service. Following retirement, she worked several years as a preschool bus driver at Accotink Academy in Springfield, Virginia. She moved to Saint Johns, Florida, in 2005.

Tam was an avid reader, gifted storyteller, and devoted friend who cherished time with family. Above all, she loved being a grandmother, rarely missing a game, recital, or school event. She will be remembered for her hearty laugh, warm spirit, and unwavering support of those she loved.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Retired First Sergeant USMC Joseph Donald Lutz, and her brother, William Ives Dewson. Survivors include her daughter, Tammy Long (Thomas); cousin James Davis (Deloris); and three grandchildren, Hunter, Chance, and Julia.

She will be laid to rest at Quantico National Cemetery on September 18, 2025, at 10 a.m.
