Thank you so much who ever it was that told Gary to contact me. We're emailing after 34 years. Been wondering about him forever. My sympathy to the entire family over the loss of Teri. She sounds like a wonderful person. I wish I could have met her, perhaps on high. God be with you all in your grief. My father, Bill Short, passed away yesterday after a long illness, so we grieve together. Hope you enjoy this photo I took of a high Sierra highway (near where Gary lives). So beautiful it seems to lead to Heaven to me. Thanks again, Windy Mountain

I am just learning of Teri's passing. She and I were co workers for three years at the National School Boards Association. While we worked on seperate floors and in different departments, we always had great conversations about life in general. I pray that Teri has crossed over into the realm of perfect peace. May her family and friends find comfort in the memory of her great smile and kind hearted nature.

Hello,
I came across this obituary while looking for an old friend, Gary Yale, from Arnold, California. I'm wondering if anyone knows if Teri's brother Gary ever lived in Arnold in the late 1970's. Teri looks much like the Gary I remember in the photo at the top of this guest book. I saw the picture of Teri and Gary but so much time has passed I'm not sure if it's him. I have something VERY important to tell him after all these years. Please email me through this website if you think it might be the same Gary or have him do so. I've allowed others to contact me. Thanks, Windy Mountain

To all the Yales we knew in Vestal, many years ago. We knew Teri as a child and a teenager when she lived in Vestal and we lived in and around Binghamton, NY. We lost track of each other for years, then Teri found us after we moved to Virginia. We are surprised at Teri's early death and very sad. We send our heartfelt condolences to all of Dick and Nancy's family.

I met Teri in the Lady Riders when I, too, was a "biker babe." But later on, our friendship endured through many other interests she and I shared. I am so deeply saddened and traumatized by her sudden departure from us, and I will never forget her beautiful, humble spirit.

Teri was my tenant, sharing a house with me for over twenty years. It was a pleasure to know her, and to work with her around the property. She enjoyed simple pastimes: nature, friends, and riding her motorcycle. I can't recall her ever being really angry or complaining.
She was somewhat shy, but also friendly to whomever she met while out walking. She was well known and liked in the neighborhood.
Teri had her life and her routines pretty well worked out and settled. She should have had many more years to enjoy them. Regrettably, she passed way too soon. It will be a long time before I can accept that she's not just outside the window, walking about the yard in the sunlight.
My deep condolences to her family.

To Teri's family -
My husband Dave and I were very saddened to hear of Teri's passing. We spent many wonderful vacations with her at the Outer Banks and several trips to our cabins on the Rapidan River. She had a great spirit and a joy in nature. We will hold her forever in our hearts.

Words cannot express how sad my wife and I are feeling about Teri’s passing. We were good friends with her, having met her during boot camp in the late ‘90s. Each fall, she would share a vacation cottage with us on the Outerbanks of North Carolina. The three of us got along like a small family, where we weathered “blows”, enjoyed afternoon cocktails on the beach, ate oddles of crab legs, enjoyed good Corona, fretted about hurricanes, went searching for wild ponies, went on bird watching tours (where the mosquitoes ate us alive), kayaked and had a good time. We have many, many other great memories of Teri and can say that she was one of our favorite persons. Our dogs adored her, as did all animals she met. We loved her deeply and are mourning her passing. This past summer, we introduced her to our passion of the Washington Nationals baseball, inviting her to my birthday celebration at the park July 30. For Christmas, we received as a gift, a framed picture of Teri, my wife and I at that game. Little did we know that while we were admiring that picture, that she lost her battle to cancer the day before. Sadly, we did not know that her cancer had returned and wished that we had had the time to say goodbye.

Teri (1R) was such an incredibly nice and gentle person. And strong and brave. She was also fun to be around and she was a fabulous motorcycle rider! As she often said, "motorcycle riding is my passion". She rode it...in 2009, she put on 11,310 miles. We belonged to the same two riding clubs and she was on, or leading, most rides I went on. She will be in my heart on all future rides and I'm hoping she watches over me on all wicked twisties! I miss her.

If it wasn't for Teri's support, there would be no Fairfax Chapter of the Southern Cruisers. We were co-second officers, and the times I counted on her are to numerous to fathom. I know she has gone on ahead of us, to scout the route, and is carving the curves between the clouds with a full tank of gas. Our sympathies goes out to her family as well, our sorrows are shared with your loss. Prayers Up.
