THADDEUS POSEY Obituary
Rev. THADDEUS POSEY, O.F.M., Cap. (John W., "Buddy")
On Wednesday, August 7, 2013, Rev. Thaddeus (John W., "Buddy") Posey, O.F.M., Cap., passed away peacefully after a sustained battle with cancer. Born in Washington, DC on May 10, 1944, "Father Thaddeus," as he was affectionately called, entered the Franciscan Capuchin Order seminary in 1963, in Annapolis, MD and was ordained in 1971. He was the beloved son of the late Col. John W. Posey and Teresa Braxton Posey of Washington, DC. He is survived by a devoted sister, Rita Teresa Posey-Moore; and nephews, David A. Moore, Oakland, CA and William J.A. Moore, Milwaukee, WI. A Memorial Mass will be held on Saturday, August 31, 2013, at 10 a.m. at St. Gabriel's Catholic Church, 26 Grant Circle, Washington, DC. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the John Carroll High School, 4300 Harewood Road, N.E., Washington, DC 20017, noted "Scholarship Fund."
