Man, what a swinging cat you were. The CD "Jazz Under the Dome," on which you played with Freddy Merkle's group (with the late great Bill Potts on piano and arranging) remains one of the prized CDs in my collection. I remember your coming by our apartment in DC when I was a teen-ager (wish I'd known more about jazz then) and we stayed in touch, albeit at "long distance" through the years. In your last phone call, several months ago, you paid this non-musician one of the greatest compliments he's ever had when you said, "to me, you really are a musician." Not true, but the sentiment will remain with me always. I'd already chosen this year's Christmas gift (the usual small-group CDs featuring tenor saxophonists) and am deeply saddened that I won't be able to send it to you. I was always impressed not only by your musicianship but your deep and abiding faith. You are in a better place now, old friend, and may your radiant soul reside there forever. We'll see you soon.

My condolences to the family of a wonderful man that "loved me like I was his own kid"! I know that all his real children and grandchildren will miss him terribly and my heartfelt sympathy to you all. Last time I got to see him was a visit back to the east coast in 2013, but in 2009 I had the opportunity to sing with him and his jazz combo one evening and what a thrill! I will never forget you, thank you for bringing God closer to me, and also to my mom when she passed nine years ago. You are certainly with the Lord who you loved so much! -*adopted daughter* Dana

What a "soulful" person Teddy was throughout his life. Whether it be in his devotion to the Lord; his unwavering love for his family; or his dedication to his uplifting music. Teddy "Babee" was a 'trip" for all of us who knew him, loved him, and like me, had the pleasure of working with him at The Washington Post.

Peace Out.

Eldest son, Dino, your eulogy was a blessing to all in attendance at your Dad's funeral on Jan. 22nd. Your acapella singing of "Danny Boy" was a knockout, as underscored by the congregation's very loud applause.

God Bless You and the entire Efantis Family!

What a wonderful man,the unique Ted E.! I was fortunate to work in the WP ad Dept.with Ted and appreciated his positive approach to live. Ted loved his family especially the terrific Kiki. A man of impressive musical talent also possessed a high dose of humility. An example,Vicki and I attended a Redskins game and Ted was singing the National Anthem. He never said a Word beforehand. I would have placed a full page in the WP, probably sold by Ted:-). My fondest memory is a Spiritual discussion we had many years ago. The was a real Soulman. He will be missed. Rick Tippett
