Thinking of you and the family during this Veterans' Day Weekend. Thank you for your service and your sacrifice. Last April laid to rest my father - Harry Tonneman WWII veteran - in Arlington Cemetery. A wonderfully respectful service - he would have been proud. I remember your service there.

I was cleaning out my office where I have not been since covid. Among the many things I had posted above my desk to center me was the article from the post in 2006. I was so saddened to see that at the time and have such strong and fond memories of TJ all these years later. I think of his family and how much he is missed as his presence with me was always meaningful. Peace and healing. Daniel

Hello,
We realize that we are very late to express our deepest condolences, but we wanted to let your family and friends know that we have made a small donation to Campus Ministries at Catholic University to honor and remember Thomas J. Barbieri US Army Specialist. We recognize that this is a humble tribute, but we wanted you to know that it is heartfelt and made possible by thousands of like-minded individuals across the American youth hockey community and beyond. We will not forget. May God Bless you and keep you safe and strong.

I know I am a day early but tomorrow I have to drive to Little Rock to pick Lynn up at the airport and I'm not sure I will have computer access so:
10 years ago (August 23rd 2006), it's hard to imagine it's been that long.
It's unusual but I am at a loss for words. That said, others have expressed things much better than I can:
"It is foolish and wrong to mourn the men who died. Rather we should thank God that such men lived." George S. Patton
"And I'm proud to be an American, where at least I know I'm free. And I won't forget the men who died who gave that right to me." Lee Greenwood
Sorry George, but I do mourn TJs death but I do thank God that he lived and I also thank God that I live in the USA.
