I am sorry to hear of your husband's passing. Tom and I started out together as docents-in-training. He was quiet in class, I think perhaps because there were so many women in the class! But, what he had to say was always so insightful and on the mark. He clearly enjoyed being around all of the wonderful artworks at the museum, a great honor for him. And, for me it was a great honor to know him. He will be missed. I will keep you and him in my prayers.
God bless you.

On behalf of myself and the staff, volunteers and docents of the National Museum of African Art, Smithsonian Institution, I wish to espress my sincere condolences to his wife Sheila and to Tom's relatives and friends. Tom served as a docent at the museum for more than 10 years, offering his maturity, patience, and impressive knowledge of African art, culture and history to countless numbers of students and other visitors through tours he led at the museum. We have all lost a strong advocate for the peoples and arts of Africa and for the goodness of humankind. We will miss him.

My deepest sympathy to Sheila and family. I volunteered with Tom at St Augustine. He was a remarkable person doing wonderful work for God ministering to Returning Catholics.
