Thomas Hoffman Obituary

HOFFMAN THOMAS J HOFFMAN "Von" On Thursday, October 22, 2009, Thomas J. Hoffman passed away surrounded by family and friends at George Washington University Hospital. Tom was born on August 5, 1953 in Washington, DC. He graduated from Archbishop Carroll High School and The University of Maryland. Tom had a 30-year career in indexing, thesaurus development, database development, editing and publishing. His work covered the areas of social policy, U.S. law, European law, international trade, environmental law and policy, transportation policy, and science and technology policy. He indexed over 300 books and journals for a broad range of clients and worked in Holland ,London and Washington at different points in his career. Beloved son of Regina and the late Howard G Hoffman. Survived by his sister, Judy Pennington (Jim), brothers Patrick (Peggy), Richard (Claudia) and the late Lawrence. Survived by five nieces, five nephews and great- nephews and niece, as well as many dear and close friends. A mass to celebrate Tom''s life will be held on Saturday November 7, 2009 at 12 noon at St. Mark the Evangelist Church, 7501 Adelphi Rd., Hyattsville, MD. Monetary contributions can be made in honor of Thomas Hoffman to: Washington Regional Transplant Community 7619 Little River Turnpike Suite 900 Annandale, VA 22003.
