A mighty oak has fallen but the roots that Capt. Lechner (and Bim) have planted in their family will grow and enrich future generations. We have fond memories of this wonderful Naval officer and his family. He made the world brighter and nicer> May he rest in peace. Duty is done. Semper Fidelis from your neighbors at Lakehurst, N.J. years ago.

The world has lost a truly wonderful ,thoughtful, kind soul. Grump was a joy to everyone who knew him. He was the ultimate care giver and cheerleader for his family throughout the years, and always had a kind word for anyone he encountered. Continuing to compete at the senior Olympics in swimming made him a roll model for all of us. He has left behind a family that he was so proud of, and friends that will deeply miss him. My sympathy to the Lechner family.

Tom was the most giving and helpful of people - he was an inspiration. My mother, Elaine Fanning, was a close friend of his and Bim's, and will miss him terribly. God bless Tom.
