TIMOTHY ALBERT GRINNINGS, SR. (Age 65)
Of Arlington, VA, died on Wednesday, September 19, 2012, at Halquist Memorial Inpatient Center from Prostate Cancer. Beloved husband of Susan Lynn Grinnings; father of Timothy Albert Grinnings, Jr. (Sheila) and brother of Lester E. Grinnings, Jr. and Linda G. Ward. He is also survived by his granddaughter, Alice. Family and friends are invited to Mr. Grinnings' Life Celebration at MONEY & KING FUNERAL HOME, 171 W. Maple Ave., Vienna, VA on Monday, September 24, 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Funeral services will be held at McLean Bible Church, 8925 Leesburg Pk., McLean, VA on Tuesday, September 25 at 11 a.m. Interment Arlington National Cemetery at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Institute for Diseases of the Prostate, FCRE, PO Box 746, Earlysville, VA 22936. Tim was one of the kindest most considerate people I ever met. I am glad to have had the opportunity to have known him. He will certainly be missed.

Tim was my Viet Vet hero....like my father (and many other veterans of that era), I will always remember the quick smile and welcoming handshake. And Redskins games will never be quite the same without Tim's input. He joins my dad in having fought the good fight against Prostate cancer and with that, has my utmost respect (along with Susan and her sister Earlene) for all they suffered through in helping this not be such a final verdict. Thanks for sharing Tim, and I will never forget the example of his grace and courage to the end. Gene Tighe

I offer my sincerest sympathies to Tim's family and friends. We used to hang out at Overlee Pool sometimes back in the 60's. He was a good guy.
