Timothy Quick Obituary

QUICK

TIMOTHY C. QUICK July 1, 1950 - July 25, 2022

Dr. Timothy Quick of Bethesda, MD passed quietly on July 25, 2022, after a short, but valiant, struggle with amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (Lou Gehrig's disease). A native of Columbus, OH, Dr. Quick found his true calling a half a world away in Burkina Faso as a Peace Corps volunteer. He dedicated the remainder of his life to empowering the African people during his long career at USAID and PEPFAR, working on implementation of nutrition programs for the most vulnerable.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Paul Quick and Barbara Marshall (nee Thierman), his brother, Perry Quick, and his nephew, Elliot Quick. He is survived by his son, Samuel Quick of Bethesda, MD, his niece, Abigail Quick of Washington, DC, and his sister-in-law, Pamela Johnson of New Hope, PA. As he wished, a celebration of his life will take place over cold drinks and warm hearts on January 14, 2 to 5 p.m. at Pinstripes Bethesda, 11920 Grand Park Avenue, North Bethesda, MD 20852. In lieu of flowers, please consider a memorial donation to the Peace Corps.

We miss Tim very much. He introduced my husband Paul to fly fishing. Always in our hearts.
