TONI FOOTER Obituary

TONI PRIVOT FOOTER
September 7, 1950 ~ December 22, 2021  Toni was born in Washington, DC but lived most of her life in suburban Maryland. She and her husband, Fritz, moved full time to Park City, Utah in 2015, which was their dream. Toni was a strong, irreverent, independent, gentle, kind, sweet, caring, generous and loving person. She touched many people during her life. Also, she was a chocoholic. Toni was an adoring and devoted wife, mother and grandmother to her husband Fritz Edelstein, her children Josh Footer (Miriam), Jeremy Footer (Tracey) and her grandchildren Jack, Sari and Leo Footer. She is also survived by her brother, Richard Privot (Susie). There will be a memorial service/celebration of life in the near future in Park City, which will also be zoomed live. In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory can be made to Women of Temple Har Shalom in Park City, Summit County Clubhouse, or the charity of your choice.

Remembering Toni, the cousin I never actually shared space with, but the cousin I knew in my heart.

Toni was truly a special, gentle, sweet and wonderful person. She was an extension of my mother. I loved her so much and always will. She will be greatly missed by anyone lucky enough to have met her.

In emails we recently traded (via Wendy's introduction) Toni's kindness and courage were as vivid as a Utah sunset. I didn't have the privilege of meeting, but I knew of Toni´s warmth and loyalty from her lifelong friend, Wendy. It's clear that a very special person graced the lives of her family and friends, and that she will be missed beyond what words express.

Last year, through my hobby of genealogy, Toni and I discovered we were cousins. As I live in Spain, we did a video call meeting. Instant connection! We stayed in touch until the end. I haven´t had the experience of weeping over someone I´ve never shared space with, but I weep for Toni. She was special. I´m quite sure the world was a better place while she was here. My heartfelt condolences to her family.

To the family and love ones. So sorry for your loss. May you find comfort at this difficult time. Psalm 72:12

Toni and I were the same age, and we grew up together as part of the Privot clan. I remember family gatherings at the homes of her parents, that of Selma and Tom Privot, and of my parents, Barbara and Sy Wolf. And I also remember a visit together in Cleveland where I was in college, and she and her first husband had come to complete his training. I am sorry that I was so shy - Toni was very sweet, and I wish I had been around more and closer. I am so very sorry to hear of her demise.

Thinking of your family at this time. She meant so much to Wendy's family and she will be forever missed. So glad I was able to spend some time with her in recent years. All my love Fritz to you and your beautiful family. Jason Cole
