Tracy Shefferman Obituary

Dr. Tracy Martin Shefferman, 57, of Potomac, Maryland, passed away on October 21, 2024, surrounded by her loving family and friends. She was the beloved wife of Dr. John Shefferman; cherished mother of Jason and Kevin; adored daughter of Dr. Howard and Judith Martin; treasured sister of Dr. Pam Martin (Jonathan Forest) and Andrew Martin. Respected sister-in-law of Dr. Lee Shefferman (Dr. Meredith Shefferman); dear aunt to Aaron & Harrison Forest and Lily & Addyson Shefferman.

Tracy was a proud graduate of Tufts University where she majored in Classics. She continued her education at University of MD Dental School followed by a specialty program at the University of Pittsburgh where she completed her degree in endodontics. She returned to Maryland where she entered practice with her father. After practicing for several years, Tracy left endodontics to pursue her all time favorite role as mother and number one cheerleader for Jason & Kevin.

Tracy's ever present sense of humor was often appropriate, sometimes not, but always appreciated. Tracy's vast creativity will always be on display through her many puzzles, paintings and photographs. As Tracy faced health challenges, everyone who knew her marveled at her incredible mental strength and perseverance.

Tracy's love for elephants was symbolic. They both shared incredible memories. In fact, Tracy could recall the exact foods she and John ordered at a restaurant 3 years earlier and whether or not they enjoyed them! Just like elephants never forget, Tracy's love, laughter, and zest for life will never be forgotten.

The funeral service has passed. Contributions in Tracy's memory can be made in the name of Tracy Martin Shefferman to https://www.crohnscolitisfoundation.org/

John,

I was in Tracy's HS class, and I was the one who pieced together the Roger George connection. I was also the one who lived at Miramont in 6070. My heart's desire is that you would behold her likeness in your sons.
