Victor Fazio Obituary
Victor Herbert Fazio Jr. (Age 79)
A Celebration of Life will be held for former U.S. Congressman Vic Fazio on Thursday, April 28, 2022, in the Great Hall of the Library of Congress, 10 First Street SE, Washington, DC. The event will begin at 10:30 a.m., but attendees are advised to arrive 15 to 30 minutes early to allow for security measures. Mr. Fazio, 79, died on March 16, 2022 at his home in Arlington, VA. The cause was melanoma. A Democrat, he represented the Sacramento area of California for ten terms in the House of Representatives and served in the House leadership. See also statements of praise and affection issued by House Speaker Nancy Pelosi and House Majority Leader Steny Hoyer, among others. A second Memorial Service is being planned for June in the Sacramento area, details to be determined. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that contributions in Mr. Fazio's memory go to the National Parks Conservation Association, whose Board of Trustees he chaired, at 777 6th St. NW, Suite 700, Washington, DC 20001; or to the Anne Noel Fazio Memorial Scholarship Fund No. 111829 at UC-Davis, UC Davis Advancement Services, 1460 Drew Ave., Suite 100, Davis CA 95618; or to the Prevent Cancer Foundation, 1600 Duke St., Suite 500, Alexandria, VA 22314
