Viola Marcella Bugel (Age 99)
Viola Bugel, of Falls Church, VA, beloved wife of the late Lt. Col. Joseph Bugel, passed away on June 6, 2022 in Falls Church, VA. She was born in Grand Rapids, MI, to Alexander and Martha Salik. She is predeceased by her siblings, Ervin, Robert, and Clarence Salik of Michigan, and her son, Walter J. Bugel (Connie) of Durham, NC. She is survived by her son, James Bugel (Lauren) of McLean, VA; granddaughters, Leslie Huffman (Sean), Marta Bugel, Meredith Bugel, Jamie Bugel (Eric Hamilton), and Madeleine Bugel; and great-grandson, Broderick Huffman.
Viola was a loyal parishioner of St. Anthony's Catholic Church for over 60 years. She was a dedicated wife, mother and homemaker, who travelled extensively in the western U.S. and Europe in her later years, and will be missed by those who have known her. A service will be held at Arlington National Cemetery at a future date.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church, 3305 Glen Carlyn Rd., Falls Church, VA 22041.
