My sympathy to the family of Dr.Walter Combs. I can never forget him since he was my own pediatrician .My parents respected him greatly. I was born in 1954 and graduated from Howard College of Medicine in 1980. He was a pioneer in Pediatrics. He was a founding member of the Pediatric section of the National Medical Association. I speak on behalf of my sister Gisele and brother Clarence III. So lucky to have an accomplished physician to take care of us during our vulnerable years!

so sorry to hear of Dr Combs passing.
He was so kind and gentle with children.
He took care of two of my children and they are grown now, they don't make them like that anymore.
God bless the family, my deepest sympathy.

Deepest sympathies to the family. I remember those trips to see Dr. Combs when he was at 9th & Rhode Island Ave NW with both excitement and fear of having to get a shot. However, there was something about his eyes and smile that was comforting. He was a very special man. May you find comfort during this difficult period in knowing how much he impacted so many lives.

Dr. Combs was our family Pediatrician. He was an ole school Physician that expected you to follow his instructions to the letter. He cared for our children as he would care for his own. I recall having delivered my youngest who had breathing difficulty at birth. I called Dr. Combs and he came to Providence Hospital to take care of my Daughter. Today that same daughter is a graduating Senior from UMBC's School of Denistry. I am eternally grateful for the loving care he provided my family.

GOD blessed his gifted hands with healing. I pray this his family too finds the comfort that he gave so many.

I was thinking about you just the other day and telling someone that you went to medical school with my pediatrician. You always sent a Christmas card to me and I left Washington Hospital Center in 1995. You will be missed Dr. Combs. May God comfort your family during this time.

My condolences to the Combs family. May much comfort come from the God of refuge and strength.
