WILLIAM L. CLARK  
William L. Clark, 90, a longtime former resident of Bethesda, MD, died peacefully at home in Charlotte, NC, on January 30, 2014, after a brief illness. Mr. Clark was born in Poplar Bluff, MO, on Sept. 20, 1923, to the late Elizabeth Weilein and William Everett Clark. He served in the U.S. Army, and after World War II graduated from Yale University and Yale Law School. Mr. Clark met his late wife, Alice Manley, on a blind date in New York City. He went on to enjoy a long career in California and Washington at North American Aviation (later Rockwell International), where he served as head of the company's Washington office, among other roles. After retiring, Mr. Clark took the James Forrestal Chair at the Defense Systems Management College in Fort Belvoir, VA. He also served on the boards of the Washington Ballet and the YMCA of Washington.Mr. Clark was known for his intelligence, generosity and sharp wit. He loved books, opera and the ballet, and passed on those passions to his four daughters and eight grandchildren.A memorial service will be held at 3 p.m. on February 15, 2014, at Christ Church in Charlotte, NC.
