WILLIAM H. CONAWAY  
William H. Conaway, 70, died Wednesday evening, May 14, 2014 at his residence. On December 19, 1964 he married the former Charlene Hashley in Coldwater, MI. She survives him. Mr. Conaway was employed by NASA (Honeywell-Frederick Herrold Associates) for twenty-four years as a Systems Engineer affectionately known as "Satcom Bill. He was an avid Amateur Radio Operator and was Director of M.A.R.S. for the State of Virginia and Radio Frequency Coordinator for the F.C.C. in the Eastern Region of the United States. Surviving besides his wife Charlene, are his children, William Conaway, Jr. and wife Melissa Miller of Evansville, IN; Bryan Conaway and his wife Sarah of Centreville, VA; Denise Barfield and her husband Matthew of Houston, TX; and Linda Crump and her husband Timothy Clark of Burke, VA; seven grandchildren, Matthew Patrick, Marina Patrick, Mitchell Saunders, Christian Saunders, Rebecca Spurrier-Conaway, Andrew Conaway and Liam Conaway. Also surviving is his sister-in-law, Michele Allen of Reese and his brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Jim and Debbie Hashley of San Antonio, TX. In addition to his parents, Bill was predeceased by his sister, Mary Ellen Schumacher in November of 2008. Cremation has taken place and a Memorial Service to honor his life will take place at a later date.
