WILLIAM DAVID GRAY "Bill"
William David Gray died peacefully on December 21, 2020. Bill was born in 1929 in Washington, DC, the only child of Charles Barton Gray and Rhea Shank Gray. He was a graduate of Woodrow Wilson High School and Kenyon College and was a Program Analyst for the US Department of Health and Human Services. Preceded in death by his beloved wife, Barbara Toms Gray, Bill will be dearly missed by cousins, Jane Mangus of Alaska, Carl (and Irene) Logan of North Carolina, Greg (and Anne) Eickwort of Georgia and Florida, and many close friends. Bill was revered for his love and knowledge of Washington, DC history, trolleys, movies, and dogs. He was an active member of many organizations, including Tractioneers, the National Railway Historical Society, the Assoc of the Oldest Inhabitants of DC, and Portuguese Water Dog Clubs. Bill made everyone smile because of his kind, strong, optimistic attitude and he made a positive difference wherever he was involved with his hard work to preserve all that he loved and devotion to family and friends. Because of the current pandemic, a graveside service to celebrate Bill's life will be held later. In memory of Bill and in this time of great need, please direct any donations to a charity of your choice
