On May 3, 2005 of Springfield, VA. Beloved husband of Judith K. "Judy" Melera; loving father of William A. "Tony" Melera, Stephen M. "Steve" Melera and Christopher J. "Chris" Melera. Also survived by aunt, Connie Goodman and cousin, Margie Ward. Family will receive friends on Friday, May 6, 2005 from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. at DEMAINE SPRINGFIELD-ANNANDALE FUNERAL CHAPEL, Backlick & Edsall Rds., Springfield, VA, where funeral service will be held on Saturday, May 7, 2005 at 12:30 p.m. Interment immediately following at National Memorial Park. Bill believed in humane treatment for all animals. Memorial contributions may be made to your local SPCA or humane society.

A friend of mine just asked me about the show on HBO called the Wire. Of course you know about it because you told me to watch it and you were right it´s amazing and that´s another thing. I wish we could´ve talked about anyway just thinking about you and missing you. S

Bill's many buddies from his days at St. John's College High School mourn his passing. He was well-loved and will be very missed at our 50th Class Reunion on June 3-4. We will remember him and offer special prayers for him at our Mass.

Although I had the good fortune of meeting Bill just a handful of times, his sincerity and quick wit left an impression on me. I miss you...You were always very honest with me. You wouldn't hesitate
to tell me if I was doing something that wasn't in my best interest. At first , I might have been angry that you were being so blunt , but after I put my pride and ego aside , I knew that what you were telling me was the truth and that you loved me and wanted the best for me. So I want to say , "Thank You Dad".
