WILLIAM S. MORROW, JR. (Age 66)
Of Poolesville, MD, passed away November 5, 2018. William was the loving husband to Laura Amy Morrow. Born on May 11, 1952, in Washington, DC, he was the son of the late William S. Morrow and Doris Cleveland. Along with his wife, he is survived by his two daughters, Adrienne Morrow of Poolesville, MD; Margaret Morrow Swensen (Eric) of Charlottesville, VA; one son, William Morrow III (Melissa Sander) of Damascus, MD; one brother, Warren Morrow of Brownsville, MD; five grandchildren, Katheryn Morrow, Quinn Morrow, Stella Swensen, Kyle Johnson and Caroline Johnson. William is preceded in death by one brother, Darrell Morrow. An attorney who received his JD from Georgetown University Law School, William was admitted to practice at the U.S. Supreme Court and served as executive director of the Washington Metropolitan Area Transit Commission. An active member of the American Bar Association, William was named a fellow of the ABA's Section of Administrative Law and Regulatory Practice. A devoted husband and father, William enjoyed camping with his family, running, golfing (poorly) and spending time with his grandchildren. He was an avid reader, and solved any newspaper puzzle he saw. A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, Nov. 9, at Poolesville Memorial United Methodist Church, 17821 Elgin Rd, Poolesville, MD 20837. In lieu of flowers, the family asks donations be made to the American Heart Association. Arrangement were made by Hilton Funeral Home (hiltonfh.com).

It's a beautiful fall day here in the Pacific northwest, but the reminder of Bill's passing brings a tinge of sadness to it. That's not bad. I'm glad to be reminded of this very nice guy. We shouldn't forget such people.

This was such sad news to hear of "Billy's" passing. We were raised in a close-knit neighborhood of friends and family in our small town in Kensington, Md. We had the best group of kids and families there. When I think back to my childhood, I warmly think of all the games and fun that one would think about and wish that we still had in that sense of security and love. Our family's would even go on vacations to Ocean City together. We were all family. I'll never forget you. Please accept my prayers and condolences. So sorry for your lost.

I knew Bill for years from his work with the ABA's Administrative Law Section. He succeeded me as editor of the AdLaw News and brought a whole new level of innovation to it. Bill always had a big smile, just like his picture here. Always upbeat, always ready to handle the next job thrown his way. I'm so very sorry to have lost this colleague.

I worked for many years with Bill in the American Bar Association Section of Administrative Law and Regulatory Practice, where he held many important positions. He was always friendly and accommodating and was fun to hang out with.

I remember in particular a Section meeting we held down in Tampa/St.Pete where we had a chance to go to a baseball game at Tropicana Field. Bill was quite knowledgeable about baseball, among other things. What was funny about this game was there was absolutely no scoring for the first 6 innings. But when Bill went to get a some food, he was only gone for about 10 minutes during which time three home runs were hit. I still remember him saying what the heck happened? We used to laugh about this in subsequent meetings.

I'm sad to hear this totally unexpected news. My condolences to Bill's family and friends.

He will listen to your prayer and pay attention to your pleas for help because he is near to all those calling on him. He will hear your cry for help and give you comfort.
