Loving father of Laura Long (deceased), Margie Gonzalez, and William Sweet Jr. Dad, we know you will always be with us. Mom has made her presence known many times, and paved the way for this day. You were so torn between this world and the next, wanting your family all together again. Rest in peace dad, we will be there shortly. Life passes in the blink of an eye. Loving grandfather of Candi Sunday, Gary Long Jr (deceased), Timothy "Timmy" Long (deceased), Samantha "Sam" Sweet, Sofia Gonzalez, Amanda "Mandy" Sweet, Johanna "JoJo" Sweet, and William "Billy" Sweet: brother of George "Georgie" Sweet (deceased), Richard "Winky" Sweet (deceased), Dorothy "Sissy" Brensinger (deceased), Daisy Joseph (deceased), Kenneth "Teeny" Sweet, Milton "Honey Boy" Parker (deceased), Jimmy Sweet (deceased); son-in-law Ruben Gonzalez, and daughter-in-law Sharon Sweet. He is also survived by 3 great grandsons and 8 great granddaughters, and many other loving relatives and friends.
A proud WWII Navy veteran serving aboard the USS Dade APA-99 attack transport on a twin 40mm anti-aircraft gun mount. And a proud union member of Piledrivers local 2311.
Borne April 29, 1927 and he left this world on Thursday, January 1, 2026 around 2pm ET.
Visitation Friday, January 16, 3 to 5 p.m. and 5 to 7 p.m. service at LEE'S FUNERAL HOME, Clinton, MD.
