YOLANDE de MAUDUIT COLLINS  (Age 95)  
Formerly of Washington, DC, passed away peacefully on June 12, 2012 in Williamsburg, Virginia, where she had been living since the death of her husband, Brig. General James L. Collins, Jr. She was born in Paris, France on November 27, 1916, and was the daughter of Priscilla Alden Griffin and Vicomte George de Mauduit. As a military wife, she traveled extensively to follow her husband's assignments, but always maintained a residence in Washington, DC. In 1982, General Collins retired as Chief of Military History for the United States Army, and they established Zulla Vineyard in Middleburg, Virginia. She was active with the Colonial Dames at Dumbarton House in Georgetown and was a longtime member of The Sulgrave Club, where she served as President in the 1980s. She is survived by her four children: Corinne Stewart Collins of Ojai, California; Sharon Collins Park of Arlington Virginia and her husband Robert; James Lawton Collins, III of Elk Grove, California and his wife Janet; and Suzanne Collins Munson of Fairfax, VA. In addition, she has seven grandchildren and three great grandchildren. The Memorial Service will be at St. John's Church Lafayette Square on Saturday, June 30 at 2:30 p.m. There will be a private interment of ashes at Arlington National Cemetery later in the summer.
