ZOE MOSHOVITIS Obituary

Zoe Moshovitis
Zoe Moshovitis, beloved wife, mother and grandmother died peacefully in her sleep on December 29. Zoe was 90 years old. Zoe is survived by her husband of 57 years, Jimmy Moshovitis; two children Diana and Harry, brother George, sisters-in-law Themis, Irene and Vivian; and son-in-law Michael, and she was preceded in death by her brother Art. The love of Zoe's life was her four grandchildren, Zoe, Jason, Skylar and Maia. Zoe also has many nieces, nephews and countless friends of whom she adored. Zoe will most be remembered for her kind and selfless soul. She always put her family first and never thought of herself until everyone who depended on her, was cared for. She never had a bad day, was always cheerful, sweet and kind, unless one of her grandkids was playing in a sporting event! She was a passionate sports enthusiast and an amazing, All-State athlete herself. Zoe was a fantastic tennis player and fierce competitor to be reckoned with. Zoe loved watching football, basketball and was very fond of the Washington Football team and the Duke Blue Devils. Zoe was also a talented gardener and enjoyed being part of The Westmoreland Hills Garden Club. Zoe loved to travel, and traveled around the world and had many fabulous adventures, especially with her dear friends from the Leadership 100 and Faith groups. Their mutual deep faith in the Greek Orthodox Church and love for adventure made for many indelible memories. She was a member of the Philoptochos Society and also the Masonic Society. The world is a lot less sweet place now that Zoe is gone. She will be terribly, terribly missed by all who knew her. A viewing will be held Friday January 7 from 12 to 2 p.m. at St. Sophia Greek Orthodox Cathedral. Funeral service will be Saturday, January 8 at the St. Sophia Greek Orthodox Cathedral starting with a viewing at 10 a.m. and a service at 11 a.m. The internment following will be private. In lieu of flowers, the family requests contributions be made to the St Sophia Greek Orthodox Cathedral in Washington, DC.
