She is preceded in death by her son David, brother Clarence Mierkey and parents Evan and Clara Mierkey.

Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, May 3, 2017 at St. Thomas Catholic Church, Milan, WI. Rev. George Graham will preside. Burial will be at the St. John's Wuerzburg Cemetery. Visitation will be held at Peterson/Kraemer Funeral Home in Athens on Tuesday, May 2nd from 4:00 until 7:00 p.m., with a prayer service following at 7:00 p.m., and again on Wednesday from 10:00 a.m. until time of services at the Church.

To the Schreiber family,
My sincerest sympathy on your loss of Carol.
I grew up with Dianne as my best friend all through our school years and also knew Phyllis and Vickie somewhat. Later I did ceramics with Carol . She was a wonderful, caring , hard working lady. I know she will be greatly missed .
May God speed healing to all of you in your time of sorrow.
